James W. Crumpton

(1918 – 2004) He was saved in Jesus Christ at age 17. He received degrees from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., Baptist Bible Institute in New Orleans, La., as well as, an honorary doctorate degree from Garland Bible College in Garland, Texas.

In 1941, he became pastor of West Side Baptist Church in Natchez, MS, where he was a gifted evangelist for over 57 years.

Dr. Crumpton produced the “Radio Revival Hour” for 22 years. In 1961, along with Dr. and Mrs. Mel Rutter, he established the Maranatha Baptist Mission where he served as president until his retirement due to failing health. He was a personal soul winner, asking those he met “Are you a Christian?”
